There's no such thing as private roads because roads are not a private good. You cannot prevent someone from using them (unless you have checkpoints and entry gates which would severely limit their usefulness) nor does one's use of a road prevent someone else from using a road. Setting up a national transportation network of roads which require membership to use is simply not feasible.
No, warts are "Kill it with ice!" (more accurately, liquid nitrogen)

“Well, that is a safe assumption. You can also safely assume that most of all comments on any topic on Digg are from men. I think the better assumption is that most of the negative comments are from people who never made it past the summery. For instance, I have not, and do not intend on reading the article, sounds boring.

"In Europe, breakfast consists of a small croissant and/or fruit with coffee"Oh REALLY? I must be going to the wrong (or right) parts of Europe, where breakfast is quite the meal, and everything I've ever read says to have a big breakfast and small dinner. And the next sentence about what Americans is just as suspect, since a good number of Americans skip breakfast.http://ohioline.osu.edu/flm97/fs04.htmlThe other tips are more in line with what I've heard (such as having 5 meals instead of 3, etc)?
"Why not combat the cause of their poverty instead?"While I totally agree with this statement, it occurred to me a while back why a conservative would never ask such a rational question. Asking such questions would reveal deep-seated problems in our society as it is currently constructed. By identifying such problems, that would more often than not compel change. Change is everything a conservative is against by their very definition. No matter how unjust, no matter how evil, no matter how irrational the current state of things, the conservative will always resist it.The questions the rational should ask first is not what causes a social ill, but how do we marginalize and force to the periphery the conservative? Once the conservative problem is solved, the of society can began to ask rational questions and devise rational solutions, moving society forward and creating a more moral and equitable society. |

When voting for human rights on ballot initiatives, there should be a required quiz that must be passed before you can actually vote. This quiz would have basic questions on the issue at hand that ask a voter if they're even informed enough to vote for something. For example, when voting for gay marriage bans, the following questions should be asked:1. Do you understand the explicit difference between a government marriage and a church marriage? Yes/No2. If yes, please write a brief definition for both government marriage and church marriage.3. Do you understand the concept of "separation of church and state" and how it applies to this issue? 4. Please read the following situation: A couple gets married who lives an arbitrary distance from you. You do not know either person in the relationship, or any person in relation to either of them. a. Assuming the couple is heterosexual, describe how this affects your day to day life. b. Assuming the couple is homosexual, describe how this affects your day to day life.

That's not what he said.Thing have definitely gotten worse since it became a Murdoch property. While the Opinion section was always a den of right-wingers liars, that bias now spills over into the "news" portion of the paper as well. Hence, just like Fox News. |
