Awesome, Landau's getting some attention again...I love this guy.
I imagine that they still cause an oscillation of pressure through the surrounding medium, even if there isn't someone there to observe it. You could argue something based on Schrodinger's Cat, but we all know that experiment was *****. The internet has taught us that cats have the ultimate frame of reference, so it's not whether the cat is dead or alive but rather whether everyone else is dead or alive.

10 pages? really? Somebody REALLY wants to make money on ad impressions.
It has tripled because people feel like they have to get stuff before they take the Internet away.Really, how does McAfee know it has tripled. Do they track everyone. Maybe its quadrupled or cut in half. The number of sites pointing to the same trackers does not equal triple .Now that I think of it the article is crap.!

sounds pretty much unrealistic. my beef is with the obama administration claiming "national security" to block access. seriously, we NEED a law to puts a massive criminal penalty and attaches both jail time and a fine for any individual in government who abuses the executive privilege of "national security"

Darwinian evolution is a stupid term: call it adaptive evolution or even better, the effect of positive selection. Darwin was wrong in a crucial point, and it will take a lot of effort to get people to understand this: it is not true that any trait that confers an advantage will be selected. Further, it is not true that only trait that confer an advantage will spread. This misunderstanding is at the base of panselectionism, which as a scientific theory is as good and useful as (and fundamentally equivalent to) intelligent design. So to clarify: 1) only traits that confer an advantage greater than a certain threshold can be selected upon. The threshold depends on how small a species was during its evolution. If a species was small, the effects need to be large.2) the chance that an trait that doesn't confer any advantage spreads to all individuals of a species is also dependent on the same threshold. Again in a species that was small, those traits spread easily.
