| Bioware is unrivaled in their writing, and I played many of their games to completion, but combat always felt dull. I want a ***** lightshow when I cast lightning bolt, with sizzle and crackle and a gratifying sensory impact, like Diablo or any number of other RPG's. I want a satisfying crunch when my axe connects for a crit. This was my biggest complaint about NWN, along with blocky outdoor environments (indoor were good) and uneven pacing. The character development and writing are amazing though, and Bioware is truly the master of the RPG in the West. They need to add a bit more sensory stimulation to their combat systems though. In any case, I bought Dragon Age today and am pumped to dig in. |

What a scatterbrained, horribly written article. I don't agree with this at all, provided it's true, but I hardly believe Best Buy would be able to accomplish this considering how many different vendors they get their products from. They would have to convince every single vendor to pre-install the software before the unit leaves the factory, or manually do it with every device that comes in to the store. Either way it seems completely unfeasible.
I have no problem delaying a bill if it means getting it right in the long run.

“I still have a nice collection of 3 3/4 inch GI Joes, including the pictured Cobra Commander. Nothing will ever beat the original Dreadnoks though!

As someone who was there, I can assure you that most (not all, but a lot) of these "rioters" were actually freshmen and sophomore students who happen to live across the street. It takes 1 man to break 5 windows, and it takes maybe 5 drunk college students to light a dumpster on fire. Hardly rioters..

They just got that "bailout" so this quarter's revenues probably don't include any of those funds.?

Her before picture looks like a mugshot, and her after picture looks like something from a local motorcycle dealerships free calendar.

The problem is that they are holding, desperately at times, onto old distribution models. Models that were developed in times when you had to transport physical copies of shows and movies. Times where advertisers were national. Instead of developing for the new tech the fought to maintain the old models because it is what made them money. They know the current distribution system works and works well and they only see the new models as taking away from that current system.I agree that placing Hulu likes ads from Global companies with stakes in countries all over the world is a great idea. If they release it via torrent through the major torrent players then their distribution cost are virtually nonexistent. Of course there are specifics to work out and advertisers need to think more global than national with the numbers. A viewer is a viewer regardless of country. The point is that they are missing an opportunity to make money and generate new revenue streams but blindly holding onto old guard mentality. And therefore I can watch episodes of Top Gear months before it comes out stateside generally the same day and a times a few hours after it airs in the UK. Would I sit through a few 15 to 30 sec ads, yes. But how many people who DVR or watch it live sit through the 20 some odd min of ads that most hour long programs generate. You have to make the ads so that it is more work to fast forward through them than just sit there and wait the 30 sec for the program to resume. |
